Dr. Mendoza is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia. At age 16, he moved to the United States, where, inspired by his passion for medicine inherited from his parents, also healthcare professionals, he completed his pre-med studies at Georgia State University. Afterwards, he went on to earn a master's degree in Molecular Biology at the same university.
Following his master's, he was accepted into Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. There, he completed his medical studies with Cum Laude distinction, where he discovered his passion for surgery, and completed his general surgery residency at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, a level 1 trauma community hospital where he learned to care for patients in their most difficult moments.

In his free time, Dr. Mendoza enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Proud of his heritage, he loves dancing to all kinds of tropical music, especially salsa and vallenato.
